"And what is more generous than a window?"

One of my favorite poems is The Patience of Ordinary Things by Pat Schneider. It speaks to a quiet care found in everyday objects, which is the kind of care I believe also belongs in legal practice.

My work centres on estate planning and estate administration. These are not typically flashy areas of law, but they are deeply human ones. They require the same attention and presence we bring to the people and things that matter most to us.

I was born in rural Alberta and raised in Sherwood Park. I am drawn to work that is deep-rooted and people-focused. I discovered this through my studies in business, education, and eventually law. Before opening my firm in 2023, I experienced a variety of legal settings, from a general law practice in rural Alberta, to a boutique condo and litigation firm in Downtown Edmonton, followed by a boutique wills and estates firm in Edmonton.

I also became a mom through my career journey. Parenthood reshaped my priorities. I wanted a practice grounded in responsiveness, and meaningful, down-to-earth legal work. That vision became Cairns Law.

I stay current in estate law by contributing to professional committees and focus groups. I am also pursuing my TEP designation through the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP Canada), a global network for professionals in inheritance and succession planning.

Outside of work, I am with my family. I may be baking goodies for my kids' lunches, biking around town, or playing soccer. Soaking in the pace of this everyday life.

Community Matters

I believe in supporting the community. A portion of legal fees is directed to local charitable organizations.

In 2025, Cairns Law will be supporting child literacy in Alberta by donating a portion of legal fees to local charities. I'm proud to support programs that bring books, supplies and mentors to children and families across our province.

In 2023 and 2024, our support focused on mothers' and caregivers' initiatives and humanitarian support for Ukrainians displaced by the war.
